Right, the hurling semi-finals are over and the football returns to centre stage this coming weekend.
Just four counties are now left in the race for Sam Maguire this year, with the semi-finals seeing Kerry up against Tyrone on Saturday evening while Donegal play Meath on Sunday afternoon.
Time, then, for another poll, this one to flush out who you think will make the All-Ireland final. The poll is set up so you can pick two teams out of the four left standing ahead of the weekend.
As I did for the poll at the quarter-final stage I’ve set it up by grouping the teams playing each other together and so help avoid votes being cast for Kerry and Tyrone or Donegal and Meath (though, if anyone really wants to opt for such choices, the poll’s background plumbing can’t prevent this).
So, then, who’ll be left standing after the weekend? It’s time to vote on that.
Who'll make the final?
- Donegal (41%, 602 Votes)
- Kerry (33%, 483 Votes)
- Tyrone (17%, 259 Votes)
- Meath (9%, 141 Votes)
Total Voters: 786

I am surprised by the Donegal preference
They lost to Tyrone, barely got past Mayo .
Bar 20min v Monaghan, they haven't lived up to the hype.
Meath, on the other hand, having been kicking two pointers for fun and stuffed Kerry. Not many team ever give Kerry a hiding, no matter how bad a Kerry team

Tyrone to edge out Kerry .
Donegal and Tyrone for the final .
I think Tyrone might actually go onto win it .
With them having won the minors and under 20s all Ireland they will have some momentum .

We'll be going through the "process" again then.
Iirc there was a bit of arsing around leaked management teams but for the most part it was pretty benign, if a bit lengthy. Not at all the "circus" it was derided as at the time.
If people can stay patient, and I would point out that if the reviews the last few years have been anything to go, this is a time of year when things like holidays mean that the necessary people aren't there all the time to move things quickly.
And if the County Board, could clarify publicly some of the requirements for Candidates to interview, mainly around the extent of the teams that they are expecting to bring in, and some practicalities around their need to be PowerPoint proficient.

Kerry v Donegal in the final and the outcome of that is anyone's guess. If Kerry plan to their potential they could blow them away but they there is no guarantee that they will do that. I would like to see them display this potential - it would be a thing of beauty.
So, in summary, Yerra Kerry by 6+ - regardless of the opponent!!

Referencing how teams have thus far performed isn't really relevant when it comes to pressure cooker games. Kerry should have enough for Tyrone, but if the red hand men won, it'd be no shock either.
Can't see Donegal losing but I'd be cheering on Meath regardless. Fitness levels and digging it out are McGuiness' trademarks. They were running up dunes in November, so I'd say Donegal will win it-with the caveat- Meath are a team that'll be hammering Mr Maguire's door down very soon.

Colin Sheridan with a good (if slightly depressing) read in the examiner, entitled "Colin Sheridan: Two wins in 60 years. The West’s asleep" bemoaning Connacht efforts at winning Sam, it really is a feeble haul when you see it all laid bare. We are only 5 years into this decade and we have already have more Ulster winners in that time that connacht has managed in the previous 60

Tyrone, seem to be on Kryptonite and its has a chilling effect on the supermen from Kerry. A few weeks ago, I was around a certain townland a few miles from Cookstown and stumbled across a top secret Kryptonite mine. In its raw state its a bit like bluestone. It has a slight sting to the touch for anyone from 30 of the 32 counties, but survivable , it emparts great almost magical power to Tyrone men, but can be lethal for Kerrymen . The Raehillys from Kilgarvan have issued an ultimatum to shut down the mine, or else (they didnt say or else what) This Kryptonite is especially effective in finals v the Kingdom, but it worked very well in an All Ireland semifinal in 2003 again v Kerry , on that occasion Pat Spillane, graciously as ever congratulated Tyrone, adding that the football was 'Puke' .

I'll go with Kerry Donegal final but no surprise to see the other 2 win either. Should be great games to watch...
Sound bytes I'm hearing around the manager selection is they will be looking to youth and freshness and very unlikely to be a previous manager. I believe that is the way to go, I'd love to see some involvement from the 2012-2018 era

McGuiness will have learned from the Galway Meath game, I expect the game will be played his way, and I think he'll shade it.
Kerry will not get the opportunity to run riot against Tyrone and they have two point scorers and strong at midfield. I think they can do it.
No point using how they performed against mayo as a yardstick. The stakes are much higher now and we met our Waterloo against Cavan.

To beat Donegal you have to go man to man and have a plan for Murphy.
We were doing fine until McHugh got injured.
Not sure Meaths backs will be up to it but their forwards will cause lots of problems.
They won't be lacking in fitness either I'm

How many counties is that now on the search for a new one.
And then some said we should have waited till after championship to start the process of searching for a new manager !
Fair play to Horan who admits that we need to try something new & different.
@Anne - Marie
You never know. Though I just can't see Meath getting passed Donegal .

With Raymond Galligan stepping down as Cavan manager, there are now eight counties looking to make a new appointment....Cavan, Antrim, Dublin, Louth, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo and Waterford.
On top of that, McGeeney and Joyce still haven't confirmed whether or not , they are staying on next year, in Armagh and Galway respectively.

A Donegal and Kerry final for me. I was at the Donegal v Monaghan game and once Donegal turned up the heat in the second half there was only going to be one winner. They are a seriously fit team and as good as this young Meath team are I don’t think they will be able to live with Donegal for the whole game.
Tyrone just about had enough to beat Dublin but I can’t see them beating this Kerry team. Gone are the days when they could park the bus and frustrate the hell out of Kerry. The new rules suit this Kerry team, especially in Croke Park, and I think they will win this weekend with a bit to spare.

Tyrone going for clean sweep at all levels against Kerry..
On the other side of the coin, Kerry looking to beat 4 Ulster teams in a row to win it....
I think Kerry just...
Donegal comfortably

A bit like the RTE radio coverage of the Tipp v Kilkenny match on Sunday ( Marty & Mullane ) were both shouting for Tipp to win, I too would like to see a Donegal v Tyrone final, but I cannot see Kerry being beaten by Tyrone, Meath are not seen as a really good team but have yet to be beaten in the All Ireland series, just maybe they will get past Donegal.
