Tickets for New York game go on sale on Friday morning

Mayo GAA announced this evening that tickets for the county’s Connacht Championship opener against New York, which takes place over in Gaelic Park on Sunday 7th April (throw-in 3pm local time, 9pm Irish time), will go on sale on Ticketmaster at 9am (Irish time) on Friday morning.

As we confirmed recently, the Mayo Football Podcast will be in the Big Apple for the weekend and, along with the Mayo Gaelic Football Club of New York, we’ll be hosting a live event at The Joyce on the Friday night. We’ll also be releasing a few podcast shows while we’re over in the city that never sleeps, including a Final Whistle pod recorded at Gaelic Park after the match is over.

Same issue - I was logged on in plenty time but at 9am there were none available

Really hoping that this is a tech glitch!

Same, was on at 9 on the dot, never even got to the queue stage, kept on coming up "Unfortunately we were unable to reserve your chosen seats, lease choose a different set of seats to continue. "

Vintage ticketmaster experience

Managed to get tickets just after 9:30, I suspect they were not properly released until around that time.

I am travelling to the game and couldn’t even secure one through my season ticket.

I wonder how many were made available for general admission? Hard to believe it sold out so quickly- there must have been some tech issues if tickets were available at 0930 but not at 9

@ Sean burke - I’m not sure but it’s getting harder and harder to justify paying for one every year.

I went the last time, no problem getting tickets at the gate if you arrive on time.
Not the same hype this time no so I can't see a problem.

Person travelling with me emailed New York GAA pro who confirmed there’ll be tickets available on the day.

The ticketmaster/season ticket fiasco needs to be brought to congress and all the way to Croke Park. The entire thing is a disgrace, a pure money grab by the GAA and two fingers to the supporters. In the eyes of the GAA we are not supporters, we are customers. End of. I used to have 4 season tickets, reduced it to 2, then to 1 for this season but that is it after this one for me. I'll still go to games and support as I have always done for over 40 years but I'm not going to be used as a pawn to a multi-billion € global company like ticketmaster, while watching bullshit ads about the GAA, the parish, the community and all that rubbish.

Agree with you Pebblesmeller, i paid €150 for 7 league games which works out at €21.50 per game. If i bought each ticket individually in general sale it would have cost me €20 per game.

I now also don’t have a ticket to the first round of the championship which at one stage was free with a season ticket and i don’t even have the option to buy one before i travel to new york through my season ticket.

Out of interest what price was the tickets and wasn't it generally admission. I see Sligo v Leitrim Connacht Quarter final will be played in Hyde Park, Leitrim chose that venue as they are getting a new playing surface in Carrick on Shannon.
