This week’s games

This week’s games

We’ve matches involving the county coming up over the next few days and into the Easter weekend. Here are the details of what’s on.

The first match involving us takes place tomorrow evening. This is our final round game in the Connacht U20 football Championship, which is against Sligo at Markievicz Park where throw-in is 6.30pm.

The game is being streamed live by Spórt TG4 on their YouTube channel. The link for that is here but, as usual, because it’s on YouTube I’ll embed the live stream here on the blog for ease of viewing tomorrow evening.

If you’re planning on going to the game, the ticket link for it is here. I’m heading to it myself so Rob and I will have a Final Whistle pod from the ground up on Patreon afterwards.

Next up is our final round game in the Connacht Minor football Championship on Friday evening. That one is against Galway and, with the two teams destined to meet again a week later in the semi-final, you’d have to think there’ll be a large enough element of shadow-boxing about this Friday’s game, which throws in at 6.30pm in Tuam Stadium.

The ticket link for the game is here. Connacht GAA are streaming it live and the link for that is here. We’ll have a Final Whistle pod from that game too.

On Saturday there are three games involving the county taking place.

The first of these is the U17 Celtic Challenge hurling match where we’re up against Donegal. Hastings Insurance MacHale Park is the venue for this game, which throws in at 1pm. It’s free admission into this match.

Next is also a hurling fixture, this time in the Rackard Cup where Armagh provide the opposition. The venue for this Round 2 tie is the Athletic Grounds in Armagh where throw-in is 2pm. The ticket link for it is here.

Then at 4.30pm that day it’s the Connacht SFC semi-final against Leitrim at Páirc Seán MacDiarmada in Carrick-on-Shannon. This match is being streamed live by GAA+ and the ticket link for it is here. We’ll obviously have a Final Whistle pod from that one as well.

There’s also a variety of club fixtures on this weekend. Mayo GAA have full details on all these games here.

That's one heck of a full forward line named for the u20s tomorrow. I'm struggling to think of the last time we had a full forward line with 3 natural /gifted scorers as these lads. Great to see and gives a bit of hope for the future and I'm not getting carried away but if I am don't tell me.

Yes definitely looking forward to this one. But not getting carried away at all. Sligo have beaten us well each of the last 3 years at u20 and are well up for this one after taking out Galway and Leitrim last week. They have a serious back room coaching set up and Mayo will have to be well up for this one down in what is apparently a very poor playing surface in Markevicick Park. Mayo beware ….i would take the draw at this stage and get direct to the final …
