Absolutely wide open sfc now, anyone of about 6 teams left should really be thinking 'why not?'.

With ballina falling at first hurdle many would have tippes westport but they were so bad yesterday that I think they have fundamental issues that won't be resolved.

My own tip to win it Castlebar seem to be lacking x factor up front which coukd be costly

The likes of Garrymore/breaffy etc really should be eyeing this up as the best chance they might get

Yeah it's wide open. Crossmolina v Breaffy final for me. Breaffy Westport will be a blockbuster as usual. Aghamore were superb in the second half v Tubber. Boland class. Sean Og McGuinness getting the better of Gibbons at midfield - is he young enough for Mayo? We could do with his physicality.

Crossmolina have left themselves with a lot of work to do.

I like it GBXI - is he young enough for Mayo? By the same token, perhaps the replacement for Kobe is not to be seen yet - because he'll probably be sitting his Leaving Cert in June 27.

GBXI I think you're referring to Sean Og Tigue. Yes he was very effective.

Seán Óg Tighe the lad giving Gibbons the fill of it. Glancing at the archive he would have played a bit of u20s in 2018, so 28ish give or take.

I'd guess he wouldn't have been far away from extended panel call-ups in recent years. Consistently showing well as Aghamore have pushed.

Hard to know exactly what profile the lads might be aiming for around that middle 8 for next year. Whatever the hit list looks like great to see lads like Tighe (or Clarke) managing to grab some attention & give new options.

(Seán Óg McGuinness the u19 defender for Cross)

Sorry I was mixing him up with the defender. They both played well. Aghamore are very balanced when they play like that. Harrison still has plenty pace and Tom O'Flaherty is a top club player.

Great to see Dara Hurley getting a run injury free at Claremorris. 3 points yesterday and 3 points the game before.
A player well worth a look if he can stay fit.

Crossmolina made heavy weather of scraping a draw against Mayo Gaels today. Some of their shot selection wasn't great.
At this moment, I wouldn't see them as potential County Champions, but every day is different.

Meanwhile, David Clifford scored 0-16 for his club today, while his brother Paidi, could only manage 0-5 !!!!!!!

Belmullet to go after goals and get the win. Heart over head - does anyone know how the Claremorris injured big guns are getting on?

I was at the Breaffy v Knockmore match in Kiltimagh. Very much a team effort by Breaffy. A well drilled team. Led Knockmore from start to finish. Knockmore are not the team of a few years ago. They missed Darren McHale but I don't think his presence would have made any difference. The senior championship is wide open. Crossmolina got a bit of a shock from Mayo Gaels. Garrymore very impressive against Castlebar Mitchels. I marvel at Garrymore, a small rural club ( not even a parish) that don't have the numbers to field separate under age teams and still manage to maintain a strong senior team.

Lee limped off injured for westport yesterday...don't know how serious it is, but will obviously be a huge loss if out for the Breaffy game.

On a positive for them, it was great to see Mark Moran back in action,

Crossmolina will only love to hear that kind of talk Observer 2 but take into account the weather was terrible and they were without alot of players , Leddy suspended , Moyles and Mulhern injured, Niall.Coggins retrning from heavy injury and Kobe and Jordan on the back of Electric Picnic .
I wouldnt be discounting them but away to Garrymore is a super game and big challenge for both teams

Ya 19th see the aughamore v Castlebar game and the Garrymore v Cross games .

Probably one of the lesser discussed games but guaranteed attacking quality in Claremorris v Belmullet.
Not only hurley and Beirne v ROD , but Howard v Joyce midfield be tasty battle .

All great games and different styles.

On viewing Crossmolina's performance yesterday I dont think they'll win it outright. The weather was truly awful, so no doubt that was a factor. Kobe back is huge but he needs help. He does things on a pitch with such speed and skill that it really is a case of blink and you'll miss him. Extraordinary. Afterwards, the youngsters swarmed him like a flock of seagulls. His head must be wrecked!

Credit to Mayo Gaels for nearly nicking it. Though you always got the feeling that Crossmolina had enough to get that extra score, and really should have won. Mayo Gaels got a few lovely two pointers aided by a strong wind and deserved their draw, battling bravely down the stretch when it looked like they were stuck in their own half at times.
Jordan Flynn back for Cross is huge. He looked fit from what I could see.

Of the group winners, Breaffy and Garrymore will fancy their chances, but Crossmolina will also fancy their chances against Garrymore, in spite of their wins against Ballina and Castlebar. I still think Belmullet will be a dark horse, they were in a tough group and were very strong against Ballaghadereen yesterday. Castlebar will fancy their chances against Aghamore. Still anyone's championship.
