The weekend’s matches

There’s Mayo action on three fronts once again this Bank Holiday weekend, with the men’s and women’s footballers as well as the hurlers all in league action, with all three matches taking place around the same time on Sunday afternoon.

The hurlers are into the fray first. They’re not only playing away from home, they’re taking the field outside the country. McGovern Park in Ruislip is the venue for their NHL Division Two Round 2 clash with London where throw-in is 1pm on Sunday. The ticket link for the game is here.

The lads are in action next. Their NFL Division One meeting with Dublin throws in at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park in Castlebar at 1.30pm on Sunday.

This game isn’t on TV nor is it being streamed live but Midwest will have live radio commentary on it. We’ll have an extra-long Final Whistle podcast show from MacHale Park for our Patreon club members after the game and we’ll also be active on Discord during it. The ticket link for the game is here.

The county’s LGFA NFL Division Two match against Wexford takes place at Swinford Amenity Park where throw-in is 2pm on Sunday. This game is being streamed live by the LGFA (here) and the ticket link for it is here.

The best of luck to all three Mayo teams in action this weekend.

Along with many other Mayo supporters I'd love to be able to get to both senior football games on Sunday but the timing is as bad as it could get. Unfortunately it is the ladies that will suffer with a lack of attendance. Surely it's about time to address this issue.

Piece up now with the match day 26. Four changes to the starting line-up, with Donnacha McHugh, Diarmuid O'Connor, Paul Towey and Dylan Thornton all added to the subs lists. The Sigerson lads are being given a rest, with Seán Morahan, Conal Dawson and Cian McHale not in the 26.
