On a side note. I was stopped at the lights here in Maynooth today. An old Dub knocked on my window and said. I saw your flags, congratulations and well done on winning the All Ireland. I’m not a big GAA supporter but I was delighted to see ye winning it and winning it the right way, fair and square. I could never say that to a Kerry man.
I thought it was lovely and I really appreciated it.

They were lucky versus Westport too
Nobody speaks about ohora and his terrible tackle on Keegan because of who he is but it changed game
They were an embarrassment against North London shamrocks at Bekan in Connaught and then were dismissed immediately when came out of mayo so good to see back of then this year

In fairness Ballina had alot injured also missing Sam Callinan & Frank Irwin huge players for Ballina to was not just about one forward as much as Evan Reagan is class.

Ridiculous comment from Solo and Go, it took a lot of effort to win two Senior County titles in a row never mind three. It's certainly no mean feat, they may have lost earlier, but there's lots of talent coming though for the next few years.

I come from a part of Mayo that doesn’t compete with a team and I just love Mayo football, travelling county to games .
Yes-it is a great achievement to win 3 county finals but that doesn’t change that the football was poor.
Anyone at the final against Breaffy will surely agree to that.
They were outplayed by Crossmolina last year and the hit on Keegan was poor and changed the game.

Solo and Go - the breaffy game was very poor, thankfully the new rules have put a stop to that style of football. Very exciting finish to last years final.

Clare - you could do with reading others' comments properly yourself before diving in with studs showing! If you go back and read the original comment where "the Dub" is first mentioned you'll find that it's the one from Nephin where he says it was someone he met who had nice things to say about Mayo winning the All-Ireland win. The poor old Dub in question had nothing to say about the quality of football played by Ballina, good or bad, so you're getting completely the wrong end of the stick there.

By the way, to those taking enjoyment at Ballina's exit, I'd just say that any team that wins three county titles in a row deserves respect. It's never a good look for anyone to put the boot in when someone is down so those comments are no more than cheap shots in my view.

However, point made was the football was poor.

Yes- just a thought the new rules will help and that’s why I think Ballina now struggling as they not set up to shoot big scores.
In recent years I have travelled to watch the great underage games between Westport and Crossmolina and the flair, attacking endeavour and style of these teams is a credit to the club’s and county
More of that is what I would like to see
The same attacking brave style that just won us All Ireland .
So to wrap up
Well done Ballina. 3 in a row brilliant but I think it should be acceptable to say the style of football was not great and therefore a new winner this year will be nice and hopefully going forward more attacking football will be promoted

And don't get me going about how you've mangled the spelling of my name into the bargain! Please don't reply further, I'd recommend you spend the time instead on a careful re-reading of the relevant comments.

3 in a row is certainly no mean achievement and Ballina deserve plaudits for it. I'd agree about style of play though it was offensively quite negative and a hard watch, and also proved costly when they entered Connacht. But they played it excellently and Heffernan had it well drilled into them. The hit on Lee was horrible, luckily it did not finish his career and hopefully he will be able to call a halt on his own terms when day comes. Mark Moran also seemed to come a cropper after the goal in league final v Westport this year and had be carted off.

On a positive the new rules have helped quell that style of play thankfully and the stats for 2 pointers etc already this season at club level are showing to be very promising. Westport and Crossmolina would have to be my favourites given their scoring power, Castlebar seem to lack in that area. Given how Westport appear to get the gips in other years Crossmolina with Kobe back and if Jordan gets back in time could be a nose ahead, although there are also some caveats about their defensive division.

It's a game Conal Dawson will want to forget. Joey Holmes physically stronger than Ben at this point but no doubt there is an abundance of young talent in the county. Looking forward to seeing Howard tomorrow, but I was very impressed with Touhy's performance yesterday for the Mitchels. He stood up and swung the game in castlebars way, second half.

Claremorris have finally arrived and fair play to them. All with Darragh Beirne his brother Adam Rio Mortimer and Dara Joyce. Westport looked toothless at times. Finbar Mcloughlin and the Holmes brothers carried the fight but they could only do so much. A game to forget for Conal Dawson
