The club championships – ready or not, here they come! – swing into action properly this weekend, with the opening round of group games being played in the senior and intermediate competitions. There’s also action at junior level.
The start of the club season also sees the return to the fray of Mayo GAA TV, which will be covering at least 30 ties across the senior, intermediate and junior championships. They’re starting this weekend with five live matches, four in the senior championship and the other an intermediate game.
As usual, match passes for individual match streams and for weekend streams will be available but many will, no doubt, avail instead of the Mayo GAA TV season ticket, which costs €125. With 30 games guaranteed to be streamed, this works out at just over €4 per game. Details on purchasing tickets, including the season ticket, are here.
By the way, if you’re a Club+ season ticket holder, you should by now have received your pass, granting entry to all upcoming championship games. Mine arrived to me here in Dublin in the post this morning, a well-timed delivery if ever there was one.

Knockmore ahead 0.05 vs 0.01 at ht. Fecking awful stuff so far in front of a huge crowd. Ryan had a penalty saved by Colm Reape. Other than that just a load of dross really.

The knockmore v belmullet game is poor poor stuff, brilliant pace and high intensity but the standard is not good between handling, kick passing and shooting, rod should have 2 goals. To be fair the wind does seem to be awkward tonight.

Final score Belmullet 2.09 Knockmore 1.09. Second half much better without being fantastic. Ryan, Fionn O' Donoghue and Anthony Barratt were very good attacking in that half. Was eager to see Seamus Howard but he was a disappointment and was subbed. Good win for the Erris men.

Mitchell's were excellent this evening but Balla had absolutely no structure what's so ever. They were the same against Mayo Gaels in league final and obviously didn't learn anything from that game as they didn't seem to have any game plan again this evening. Need to get some sort of structure in their games

Its funny because balla where brilliant in the league so good defensively but have lost there last two competitive games by 13 and 12 points and its not going to get easier, that group is very tough. Castlebar are a top team though will be interesting to see them going forward.

Anyone have issues with mayo gaa tv today. Bought the season pass and was at the balla v castlebar game and intended watching the belmullet game afterwards. When I tried to watch back the commentary was a full 30 minutes behind the video. Maybe just an issue when watching back but savage annoying

I could'nt get the match to play on telly today and I had no trouble with all the others such as Connaught GAA, GAA+ and GAAGO etc. but watched it on the desktop. And was surprised that Knockmore were allowed to leave that training goal on the pitch and found the camera was placed very low........still we won SAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!

Diarmuid Duffy has a huge future with Mayo, you don't captain our Minors without being a fine footballer.

Sorry haven't been on here for a while. I got caught up in the whole euphoria of attending the game in Croke Park and subsequent homecomings.An unreal feeling. I received my season ticket club card tuesday and was really looking forward to attending matches this weekend but unfortunately I am too ill to attend. Hopefully next weekend. Belmullet had a good win over Knockmore. They are on a high down there with the Ryan O'Donoghue factor. Castlebar's win over Balla was a foregone conclusion. Balla have been hanging on by the skin of their teeth to senior status for the last few years. I am sure Andy and his guys will be watching the games closely. There will be plenty of players trying to impress. Anyway I think it will be midwest for me this weekend.

There's a fair amount of calatteral damage amongst supporters for sure Paudge, which makes it all the more impressive that these AI champs are back at the grind ,doing it for their clubs.

The Finbar McLaughlin show continued in second half. Eoghan also played full second half, it will bring him on. Charlestown battled well enough. Had they been a bit sharper in front of goal it may have been a tighter game.
New pitch worked well but road is lethal, will take a lot of stewarding, especially with kids.

Some good football in the Crossmolina v Ballintubber game. 1-26 to 0.22. James Maheady, man of the match with 0-7. Oisin Deane scored 0-5. Conor Loftus very good. Jordan Flynn played well.Came on before half time and scored a goal. Cillian O'Connor came on half time and scored a few impressive two pointers.
