The Mayo Football Podcast show we released in the wake of Rob Hennelly’s announcement of his retirement from the inter-county scene is proving a big hit with listeners.
That’s no surprise, as Mike covered plenty of ground with the Raheny netminder over the course of the hour that they chatted on the pod.
Rob’s reflections on the events leading up to and subsequent to the All-Ireland final replay of 2016 – for which Rob dramatically replaced David Clarke between the sticks but endured a torrid time, eventually getting black-carded in a match that Mayo would go on to lose agonisingly by a single point – are nothing short of compelling.
We were delighted to welcome Rob onto the podcast within 24 hours of his retirement announcement. Mike’s interview with him on the podcast was the first Rob gave to any media outlet in the wake of his announcement.

The pod I'd have to say is the best value that you can possibly sign up for. Can safely say it cost me more this year to charge my phone and earphones to listen to all the podcasts than the subscription itself. Also if it is in any way a way of showing gratitude to WJ for all we have here, it's a no trainer.
Pod with Rob Hennelly is class. Only man that comes out of it with more than Rob is Boyler. What a class act.
