Excellent display all round, Toss up between Conor and Bob and what an introduction by Kobe...

It’s a real shame for Mayo GAA and the GAA public to be losing a talent like Kobe. There’s not much we can do to compete with the Australians when they’re offering serious money and a professional athlete setup, but it’d turn your stomach after seeing just how good he was today.
Its no exaggeration to say that he is on par to what David Clifford was at his age

Super performance all-round. Monaghan were average and will likely go down, but 2-30 is an outstanding score in division 1.
Only two things that trouble me.
1) Hennelly, while a great shot-stopper, isn't good enough to be still coming up taking frees. His conversation rate must be 1/3 or 1/4 so far this year. Is there nobody else for long-range dead balls?
2) Will McBrien or a true defender be at #6 for championship? Loftus is super, mops up ball so well and his distribution is excellent, but he was centre-back in McStay's first year and we were opened up against the big teams eventually

Great performance all round, although Monaghan were not at their best today. What an arrival by KMD! It must have been some feeling for him to score his first NFL point, 2pointer and goal all in the one game.

Great performance today, can't ignore our defending at times today though. Kobe debutant was unbelievable brings us so much in attack. But our captain was taken to the cleaners by McCarron that has to be a huge concern, going back to the Dublin game he wasnt aggressive enough in the tackle for the Dublin goal. But let that not take away from a positive performance

Jordan Flynn was immense today. Should not get carried away, Monaghan were missing so many players and we still conceded 2 - 11. Still major improvement on last week.

2-30 is serious scoring with all forwards troubling the scoreboard is great to see.
Hard not to get carried away by Kobe, he is a superstar. Embrace the hype i say

I agree, not Jack Coyne’s best game today, especially against McCarron in the 2nd half. But I’d prefer to see him having an off day today rather than later in the year. Management should try to address whatever problem is there

Jack will be fine but remember returning from injury so maybe let him stay out Armagh to be ready for Clifford and co .
Morahan an ideal replacement.

I would not be worried about Coyne. He needs game time not rest.
It’s primary now that Livingstone gets a couple of games.
I would rest/rotate (not all at once) Hession/Callinan/Flynn/ROD/AOS
Possible team for Armagh:
1. Livingstone
2. Coyne
3. Mchugh
4. Brick
5. Morahan/Kelly
6. Loftus
7. Durcan
8. Tuohy
9. Mcbrien
10. Carney
11. ROD
12. Howard/Dawson
13. McHale
14. Carr
15. Boland
Would rotate Beirne and McHale. Beirne has proven his class. Would play Kobe from the bench again

Agree that Jack Coyne will be grand he didn't get nominated for an all star for nothing last year . Just back from injury to . He will come good .

McHugh should have been put straight into MCCarron when he came on. He matches up far better and Coyne left on a quicker player. And it took management a while to make that switch which is a slight worry.

Fergal Boland was my man of the match What a star player 2 2 pointers from play and constantly providing balls for fellow players working hard all over the field

Is mcbrien doing enough outfield or do we need him in a porous enough defence. Kobe and flynn excellent. Boland very good and callinan.

Jack Coyne is a week link on that team ... was destroyed by Jack McCarron today ... responsible for the first goal and hennelly saved his ass in the last minute when McCarron took him on. How will he go when he is marking someone like Tadgh Brosnan , Oisin o Neill or Dairi Cregg. I am afraid he will get well caught out. Sean Morahan is the only replacement. Full back line is the weekest link on this team

Christ, some of you have very short memories, turning on our only All-Star nominee from last year who is literally just back from injury. There are times when the comments on this blog would make you want to set a match to the internet.

Yes Ann-Marie, Form is temporary, class is permanent. Jack will come good. What can I say about Kobe, did what we know he can, but certainly didn’t expect on his debut. Class act and looking forward to more in the coming months. Black cat, black kitten.

Looked like he'd been there all his life Nephin. I really loved his celebration after the goal. Pure joy. Sensational stuff, a day we won't forget for a while. A perfect performance? Far from it. But one worth celebrating all the same. And definitely not a day for writing lads off.
I think my favourite moment of the day was seeing Jordan and Kobe embracing at the end, and then Jordan shepherding him off the pitch. A day they won't forget for a long time either!

Yes Ann-Marie and hopefully some day he’s on the beach and remembers that feeling and says to himself, I want to be back there with Jordan, Conor and a few more club mates, playing in Croke Park for the county.

Jack Coyne was not outstanding today but excellent last year and just returning from a lay off, but of course some have to find fault somewhere and as it’s difficult to point a finger at our attack ( 2 30 is a half decent score) a blame worthy figure must be found elsewhere so Jack is the man today. No doubt when we fail to rattle in 2 30 v Armagh it will be Aido or Ryan etc. Well done Mayo today. Played very well against a seriously under strength Monaghan today but we can only beat what’s in front of us. Lovely to see Kobe do so well and like so many others I am devastated that he is being poached by the Aussies, No blame attached to him but losing Hanley, Mullen and now Kobe is absolutely sickening

Difficult to pick a MOTM, as there were many outstanding performances. Paddy beginning to look more like his old self, Ryan busy as usual, Beirne continues to impress, Boland great scores and workrate, ditto for Jordan and his best for a while, Sam growing all the time and Kobe, what can you say, a special gifted young talent. My top two were Conor who was superb. Bob gets my top vote-he gave a midfield masterclass, dominating possession and using it well and is now realizing his potential.

- Congrats to Bob, he caught so many kickouts and those he could not catch he broke down. Incremental improvement all the way thru FBD until now.
- Loftus and Flynn easily in the top 3. Call out to Darragh who is nailing down a corner forward slot for himself.
- The conditions were simply terriible yesterday so scoring 2-30 is to be admired.
- Jack, Donnacha and Paddy all need match time so should start the next day. McCarron was too strong physically for Coyne.
- Towey messed up with a bad wide when absolutely no pressure on him, he is running out of chances.
- Stick or twist V Armagh and Kerry....we have to beat Roscommon so need to target that game.
- The Monaghan fans in what was a very small Monaghan crowd were admiring Kobe. What a 15 mins of football ability, confidence and sheer delight. Well done....
