It’s time to reveal our latest Club Stars Senior Team of the Week selection following the conclusion of the second round of group games in the club championship.
This week’s team features two players each from Aghamore, Breaffy, Castlebar Mitchels, Claremorris and Knockmore, with Ballintubber, Charlestown, Crossmolina, Garrymore and Kilmeena all having one player each on the team.

Was at the match in Claremorris. All of the Claremorris forwards were on fire. The forward line was so full of running it was amazing.This was without Darragh Beirne. Cathal Joyce took over the free taking. He was sensational. Four two pointers and one single. All over the black spot. Niall Hurley was unplayable. Scoring for fun.
The Claremorris defence were caught short of numbers on a lot of occasions - something like the Mayo defence against Roscommon, Monaghan, and Meath - and Westport were clinical.
In the end of the day getting 1-28 in a match is extraordinary and hard to beat. At the same time, the Westport nearly did it. Their 6 goals were more down to Claremorris defensive mistakes rather than anything brilliant from Westport. Except perhaps the first goal.

@T2S: If there's someone you think showed well not getting selected it'd be great to get a run down of who you think played well and why they might have been included. Just throwing out a negative like that nobody gains from.
I've no idea who you have in your head, but I'll say with absolute certainty you'll have plenty of folks that wouldn't agree with that call either. We all value different things players offer, see different things at games and will weigh up pros & cons with whatever slight biases (that might be rewarding a forward run more than a defensive block or simply not really liking that cheeky lad from the village over) we hold so teams like this will always be incredibly subjective.
You'd make a case to have Colm Reape (caveats on Ballagh not offering huge resistance) or Rory Byrne (put on an exhibition in the 2nd half) ahead of Groden, Conor Coghill (the two clearances of almost certain goals outstanding enough but fantastic again from general play) ahead of Harry (great performance, but his best work much further forward) & probably Aido ahead of either SO'M/JD but tossing a coin between the two (others fighting for those spots with Gallagher, Holmes or Orme who might have gotten a nod too).
Doesn't make the selected team wrong or any other selection right, just shows we all see slightly different things when watching and gives us a great chance to shout-out someone shining if we use it that way.
