Mayo Football Podcast Intermediate Team of the Week

Mayo Football Podcast Intermediate Team of the Week

Our second Mayo Football Podcast Club Stars Intermediate Team of the Week of the 2025 campaign is out.

Our chosen selection features three players from Parke/Keelogues/Crimlin, two each from Castlebar Mitchels B, Kilmeena and Kiltane, with one each from Ardnaree Sarsfields, Burrishoole, Cill Chomáin, Hollymount/Carramore, Kilmaine and Moy Davitts.

Ardnaree’s Rory Clarke, whose charges came away from Flanagan Park with an impressive win over hosts Ballinrobe yesterday, is the Intermediate Manager of the Week.

This week’s Club Stars Intermediate Team of the Week is below. Let us know what you think of the selection in the comments.

@Williejoe.I'm sure you won't mind if I pull you on your note above it should read one from kilmaine instead of kiltane. I know your in the pedantic club yourself so you probably won't mind. On another note and i won't disrespect any of the names above and say they shouldn't be there but if mayo can field an intermediate team without kilmaines Luke muniz in defence well then I'm booking the hotel in Dublin for next August .the kid is a speed merchant with skill to go with it and it's also in his dna.

I don’t mind at all, No Doubt - it’s always good to be pulled up by a fellow pedant! I’ll correct it now.

Point taken about Joe Muniz too. No more than the Senior selection, there were plenty of tight calls to be made for the Intermediate team as well.

MoyDavitts midfield & forwards were sharp shooters against Hollymount , It's Crazy not one of them made it with a massive come back & fine away win.

@Seàn McMahon: It's fairly hard to take any suggestions for teams seriously (be it Cross, Ballina, Moy Davitts or anyone else) when a TOTW is a selection of individual performances.

Who, specifically, was outstanding in that 2nd half (by all accounts they were all fairly brutal in the 1st half) for Moy Davitts to be worthy of a spot ahead of who, specifically, that's selected on that team?

Hearing feedback on specific performances (even if it's as succinct as @No Doubt offered on Luke) that people feel might also have been included is fantastic. We all get to hear of another performance worthy of consideration and feedback on why.

(By all accounts the Moy Davitts lads stood up as a team and all 6 forwards put in a big shift in the 2nd rather than a single stand out performance. I'd have thought Reape or Clarke the closest two to possibly making it in, but from the feedback around the other games I can well imagine selecting others who got closer to a 60 minute performance and we're stand out individuals for their sides)

Hearing a plea for any player for a team without reason simply reads as a personal preference for that side and none of us walk away any the wiser.

Need a Sunday Game type programme to run through all the games and footage captured from Championship weekends. Would tie in nicely with Pod.

Tax bill for GAA county boards expected to be in the millions: Some county boards have already confirmed six-figure sum liabilities while others are expected to face similarly hefty dues.

@TsuDhoNim. Not ashamed to say I had to google succinct but I'll take that.

It's all subjective guys , give the man a break if wasn't there , then no topic to discuss and nice little nod to some of the lads who played well.
I dont think anyone should take it literal so let it be and end of championship lets see who's been on team most often and whom are added to Mayo Panel in November December or whenever we officially meet up.

Gizmobobs. Only a matter of time when the GAA will go professional and all will be up front. Semi professional as it is now.

Can’t see how it can go professional, you’ve about half a dozen games per year in football where you get decent crowds . It would never be sustainable as a professional sport

Any manager with a day job or pension would pay tax at 40%plus.
Not many takers.
