Haven't seen any comments or posts on here about the ladies minor finals, but they were all played in Bekan on Sunday.
Claremorris won the A final and have won back to back minor titles.
Got told during the week that this particular ladies team haven't lost a game in their age group since U12 and have won it all.
Bree Hession, Isobel Phillips and the Cummins twins look like great prospects, along with Mayo u16 captain Emma Higgins.
Claremorris gets a lot of flack for never doing it at senior but their record of developing talent at both men and ladies codes in the last few years has been second to none

It’s worth noting that Claremorris’ opponents in the minor A final, Balla, gave them a very hard run in the final. This was a first A final appearance by a club whose LGFA wing only started up in 2018. They look like building up a very strong LGFA to match their significant successes on the boys and men’s side of the club in recent years.

Both those clubs are doing great work at underage by looks of it. It's funny how at both club and county underage and senior can often have no correlation with each other at all. In both codes, but particularly in mens.
Knockmore for example have had minimal success that I've heard of at underage in both codes, often operating in B or C grades, compared to Claremorris, Westport etc. Yet they contesting both senior finals, their 4th women's final in row and the men their 3rd in 4 years is it? Garrymore like wise in mens are amalgamated often underage or operating lower grades but have massive record of maintaining consistent performances at senior level.
Flip side then is Claremorris senior men's teams and Kilmoremoys (Ballina, Ardnaree, Bonniconlon) ladies who are intermediate at adult grade.
I really do wonder if our underage academy structure is doing us any favours. Panels are often almost exact same year on year through age groups. Given how kids develop differently year on year, you'd expect more variation.
Often the region management from appears to feature prominently, could be coincidence of course.
