Andy will probably take Jack O'Connor's lead and hold back here. Getting as much football into the less experienced guys is paramount but I'd not be expecting a win all the same. Between these guys and Armagh there's invaluable exposure to Ulster doggedness to be had. It'll be different gravy in the better weather.

Seamie o'Shea new Ballymun Kickhams manager is an interesting one.
Hard to believe him managing lads like McCarthy, The Smalls etc he had such battles with in the past

Really looking forward to donegal game, will be the most instructive of all the league games before managers go back to playing silly beggars in the final rounds, be the closest thing to a championship standard we face in the league so will learn plenty.
The in form dara o baoill ruled out for league with hand injury

You got in there first, That time of year again (apologies, Shane), so I'll put you in touch by mail with Boleyboy to sort out the logistics.

Supermac, I think he's managing alongside James McCarthy. They're good friends apparently. McCarthy is training the underage teams somewhat and Seamie has kids attending a local crèche. McCarthy has a kid in it too. A possible foray into bigger management roles down the line.

Good podcast. Im sure mayo gaa could make a few Euro on those 'public' training sessions, enough to straightening the upright at the bacon factory end. Good to know carr is flying in training and Loftus may be appearing on a panel sheet soon enough. Finbar McLaughlin too, pace and natural two footed player.
I'd argue with Mike on one point. 'Its great to play in a sigerson final'. To me that is soft core mayo thinking. Its great to win a Sigerson medal. Our new breed need hard core mentality. I can imagine Brosnan of Kerry and UL, will be thinking of one thing only tonight, winning.
The Donegal game, i can't believe only 3 posters in 10 think mayo can win on Sunday, some posters even suggesting Andy will pull back on this one. Its the acid test, Andy will have one thing on his mind, winning.
Collectively, our Mayo UL lads are a tough bunch as they have proved in getting to the final. Now write UL into the history books as the first UL team to WIN Sigerson

I kinda feel McGuiness might the one to pull back on this one. Assuming he doesn't want to be in a league final, then losing to a Mayo side who have made three of the last four would seem like half the battle done.

Culmore says:

McGuinness certainly won't want to loose to Mayo , lots of history to these games, also Murphy will want revenge for Castlebar a few years ago when he was using his strength against Mayo players till Aiden O Shea came on and sent him flying over the sideline with a good shoulder. This game will be played Championship style with both going for win to maintain Division 1 and experiment in rest of games

O

Ontheditch says:

Agree Culmore. No better game to evaluate your season after 3 games. Secure your status in division 1 and be the team to beat

Mmm UL making hard work of this....you couldn't call their corner backs sticky.
Mayo lads doing ok. I'd like to see Frank thundering in to it with a few 2 pointers.
Cian fairly well marshalled but he'll still do damage...he has lovely balance on the ball.

@Culmore yeah also agree it will be a big test for us. Not expecting a win but you never know. But we will learn alot either way .

@2hops

Yeah UCC definetly going into 1st gear in the 2nd half . Hopefully UL can pull through.

Good gritty win for UL without being sensational. The difference was their ability to win 50 / 50 ball and turnovers when needed. Can't do the Mayo lads any harm to be winning in Croke Park on final day 😀
