The Mayo Football Podcast episode we released the other day on Patreon recalling the exploits of the Hogan Cup-winning St Colman’s team of 1977 brought back happy memories for many club members.
Now, to pay tribute to that great team and as our way to wish the current St Colman’s team all the best ahead of their Hogan Cup decider against St Patrick’s Maghera, we’ve released this pod as a free show on all platforms.
The pod features Mike in conversation with three members of the 1977 team – captain Eugene Macken, Charlie Gilmartin and Padraic Coyne. They recall key moments about that storied Hogan Cup campaign, as well as about life as pupils of St Colman’s in the Seventies. They also have some words of advice for the current team ahead of Monday’s final.
This podcast episode was first made available on Patreon for club members. It’s now up as a free show on all podcast platforms, including iTunes, Spotify, Podomatic and SoundCloud (it’ll also be up on YouTube as well shortly). You can listen to it here on the blog as well, using the SoundCloud player below. Enjoy!
