Mayo Football Podcast episode: Final Whistle – Crossmolina and Cill Chomáin come good

The replays of the Mayo Intermediate and Junior club championship finals at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park produced two compelling encounters on Saturday evening.

Mike was there to watch the drama unfold and he also got reaction from some of those involved.

Former Crossmolina and Mayo footballer, Michael Moyles, was also on hand to offer his analysis of both matches.

This new podcast episode is now online and is available to our club members on Patreon – it’s HERE. To get access to this show and to all our other great content, for as little as €1 a week, join the club HERE.

Congratulations to both teams .
I honestly thought Moy Davitts would be too strong for any of the Intermediate teams this year Well dome to Cross on getting back to senior.
Nothing easy for Moy Davitts again next year in Intermediate

Rewatching the highlights of the inter final and it must be said some of scores kicked were of the highest order, certainly not what you would be used to seeing in Mayo football.

McHale, Duffy, Loftus, Maheady, Leddy amongst others all kicking beauties. Great to see it

We're back to rumours again......sigh.
It would be great if people could exercise some cop on.

That would be very, very poor form if true. 2024 Minors weren't playing for their schools either in the Colleran Cup earlier this year. It's crazy stuff. Lads love games rather than tedious training for months. There were about 20 lads on the Minor squad in 2024 that wouldn't have played a competitive match for 6 or 7 months. If they aren't starting, they should all be released back to their clubs, schools and colleges for game time. How else will they improve.

West is best, it's sad to see lads looking on at their school mates playing and them watching on from sidelines.

Anthony - you can expect a card of some colour from Willie Joe when he sees that post- not sure will it be yellow, black or red.

Just seen it now! Think it merits a yellow plus a red for the comment itself. Posting rumours on here isn’t allowed, end of.

I hear Lancashire GAA are planning a centre of excellence. Mother of sweet divine we will be the only show in town without one soon if we don’t get moving .

Stop Sean it's embarrassing at this stage. I reckon I could have secured a grant myself, such was the amount given out across the country

Utterly laughable

What is the story with the thing Dillon is selling to the electorate this morning “The Mayo Sports Campus has been granted €7.5 million for a range of athletics facilities. ” That’s not a GAA centre of excellence and don’t let people start trying to say it is one .

Suspect we'll be under lights in Derry night one.

Willie Joe, any plans for Kevin McStay to sit down with the pod for a Q and A like last off-season

If Dillon was only half as good as his Kerry counterpart Brendan Griffin securing 6 millon for McHale park like Fitzgerald Stadium is after getting and thats not to mention Kerry securing sports capital grants up to the tune of 13 million, while here in Mayo we only got 8 million.Has he even brought McHale Park stand debt to the attention of the Goverment and Gaa for a better deal than the current one.Kenny did nothing about it either when he was in power.

I watched St lomans play Dunshaughlin.
Best them by 13 or 14 points.
My God how far back Meath football has gone.
New rules could change a lot of panels, tight corner backs needed and forwards that can win their crown ball.
Concerned that the rules will be reviewed after the league, typical GAA should give the full year.

Retrocut - I've deleted that rumour you posted, which I note hasn't been publicly confirmed anywhere else.

I'm getting seriously hacked off at this stage at people continuing to post unsubstantiated rumours here on the blog, despite my continuing to remind everyone that this isn't and never has been a place for posting comments of this kind.
