The draw for this year’s Mayo club football championships takes place next Monday.
So we thought it was a good time to catch up with Ger Flanagan to talk about the calm before the storm and to discuss some of the recent developments around the format and structure of the competitions.
Mike and Ger also looked ahead to this weekend’s Connacht Post-Primary Schools Finals — with seven of the eight finalists being Mayo schools — and we hear from St Muredach’s manager, David McHale, as the North Mayo college chase their first Aonghus Murphy Cup against St Gerald’s, Castlebar.
This new podcast episode is now online and is available to our club members on Patreon. To get access to this show and to all our other great content, for as little as €1 a week, join the club HERE.
The Mayo Football Podcast has partnered with EBS — The Mortgage Masters — this season.
EBS are looking to hear from Mayo supporters who are living at home or abroad who might be looking for some mortgage advice.
EBS have kindly donated two free tickets to Sunday’s match and our club members have already been notified about how to enter the competition we’re running for them.

Congratulations to Mayo County Board and the grounds men in McHale Park for winning GAA pitch of the year for 2025.

Agreed regarding the pitch. It's not that long ago i think it was the Gooch who said it was his least favourite pitch to play on regarding underfoot conditions. Well done all involved. (We'll have to stay off it for the homecoming in July).

Does the award come with a cash prize to get the lights fixed and the upright sorted at the bacon factory end.
Obviously the pitch surface is very good despite our weather. Congrats to ground staff
