Mayo Football Podcast episode: Club matters back on the agenda

Mike is joined by Colm Boyle and Ger Flanagan to talk about the club football scene in Mayo as the countdown begins to the start of the club championship next month.

They chat about how the Senior Leagues are shaping up, why the structure needs tweaking, which teams are moving well, and how the split-season works for them.

The lads also react to Seán Deane’s appointment as Breaffy manager, the news that Ryan O’Donoghue will miss the first round of the club championship, and give a great insight into how club players think about some of the wider GAA issues.

This new podcast episode is now online and is available to our club members on Patreon – it’s HERE. To get access to this pod and to all our other great content for as little as €1 per week, join the club HERE.

The Mayo Football Podcast has partnered with EBS — The Mortgage Masters — this season.

EBS are looking to hear from Mayo supporters who are living at home or abroad who might be looking for some mortgage advice.

They have an office in Castlebar where you can arrange an appointment to call in for a chat, or you can find them online by searching for ‘EBS Castlebar’ or by clicking here.

Fucking hell, a lot of soul searching to be done in Mayo because there is no way Armagh are in the top 2 counties in the country. What on earth does that say? Fair play to Armagh, showed unreal bottle today, something they haven’t done so in recent years. But my word it’s hard to believe they are in an All Ireland final. If someone said that Tyrone Dublin or Kerry would not be in a final this year, and then we added that we wouldn’t even be in a semi final, god it would make you wonder altogether. Look at the counties that have took advantage of some slip ups by the better teams this year and yet we didn’t get to Croke Park

I have mentioned it here before but the Kerry poster boy, David Clifford is probably the most overrated player in the history of the game, never does it when the chips are down, Paudie his brother and Sean O Shea always put in better shifts, a great day for football with Armagh into the final, if Donegal win tomorrow it could be their year.

O

Disagree Mayonaze, Armagh surprised me in terms of their overall attitude, they have continued to learn and seem to have a serious team bond, in many ways they should have beaten Donegal the Ulster final. They will be in with a serious shout.

Go out and get an elite attack coach.

Galway have only beaten Armagh on penos, lost and drawn.

It would be a classic final. It makes tomorrow very interesting.

As wasteful as kerry were armagh and their supporters outstanding.. They are a passionate bunch and will go hard again in final... Back to the drawing board for kerry if Jack stays on.. He'd want to find a good midfielder and 2 or 3 scoring forwards though.. Very average side at the moment.

The heat is well and truly on McStay and co after these results. Nobody can sit and say with a straight face and we shouldn’t be well and truly capable of being in the thick of the action with these three teams remaining if the management had gotten the best out of this panel.

We don’t have the players, we need to accept our place in the pecking order, we are a few years off an all Ireland, we have no good underage players coming though, etc etc.
Some very prominent mayo GAA podcasts have been telling us this kind of stuff all year. Wafflers talking out of their arses.
Why not call the season out for what is was, an abject failure? A county like Mayo should be aiming to compete for and win the all Ireland every year with our pick, heritage and football culture.

T

Thedarkyfinn says:

G

July 13, 2024 at 8:34 pm

Mayo_joe 100% on the money. A lot of shite being spewed recently in defence of McStay and co. Had Mayo been in Armaghs position today I would guarantee you we would lose cus we wouldn’t go for the kill when it was there. McGuinness has Donegal ahead of us in the pecking order within 1 year back, when they were rock bottom last year. There appears to be a lot more questions then answers at the end of this year.

B

Bb midlands says:

July 13, 2024 at 8:38 pm

Armagh are a good team and have had terrible luck with penalties. They deserve today. They decided they would never be in that position again. Those who dismiss them are insulting and disrespectful.
We have good players and we saw that against Dublin, but the truth is that they played awful keep ball in all the other games. We are going nowhere until we change that. This is not because of mac Stay. We played like that under Horan too.
We have had our pain too like Armagh over the years, but we are still not fighting back like Armagh did today. They learned from past pain, and I think will make sure they will never be there again. Something we have to learn
It would be fitting for Galway and Armagh to be in the final and see who wins without penalties.

S

Swallow Swoops says:

July 13, 2024 at 8:39 pm

For me, Armagh won that game because they came to it prepared. They drew up a plan to win or to keep them in it.
In addition, Kerry were not tested this year.
Armagh got on top of Kerry and marked Kerry’s big players out of it.
Kerry looked pale and passive because Armagh’s tactics (plus fitness and top quality players) made them that way.
David Clifford, Seán Ó Sé and Paul Geaney were nullified for Kerry but Rian O’Neill, Jarly Óg Burns and Stefan Campbell were allowed freedom to act for Armagh.
It’s not hard to see why Armagh could win in this scenario.
And Armagh were battle hardened - they’ve been in extra time and penalties before and said “never again!”
I’m delighted for Armagh and the game.
The All-Ireland winner this year will be a new one.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s game.

True mayo joe. Even a lot of posters on this blog were saying they would be happy if MAYO made a semi final. I could never understand that. We were as good as any team this year. S

Southmayo Exile says:

B

S

Swallow Swoops says:

July 13, 2024 at 8:49 pm

Exactly, Tuamstar. Although I do think Mayo management need to use a more vigorous approach next year. Let’s do it.
And - are people forgetting all the misses and losses Armagh have had in recent years?
It wasn’t just a romp to an All-Ireland final.
I think the losses and narrow games have been fuel for this win today.
They’ll be a match for anyone in the final.

J

JP says:

Janey Mac but some perspective. The entire top 7/8 teams fell over, drew most narrowly to each other this year in chamlionship.
So, by almost mathematical logic if we improve our panel and our tactics we could be very competitive over the next few years.
A young midfielder comes in.
A really good corner back. A scoring corner forward.
There's no way of knowing.
Look at how Armagh have kept building with the power of compound interest.

M

mayo_joe says:

July 13, 2024 at 9:12 pm

Tuam star where did I say we should replace McStay?
Swallow Swoops - do you think our management got the most out of this Mayo group in 2024?
Are we “miles off the pace” of Donegal and Armagh? These teams were laughing stocks last January before the league. James Horan said once he was here to take the bullshit out of mayo football. Some of it is definitely starting to seep back in now recently.
The worst thing is kerry and Dublin will be ravenous to make up for this in 2025. Jack O Connor won’t survive the animals in Kerry this winter. He won’t have the luxury of a less demanding public that McStay has.

B

Bate the blanket says:

July 13, 2024 at 9:20 pm

I asked this question here when McGuinness took over Donegal, is any manager capable of turning a team around, I think it's pretty much the same panel of Donegal players this year as last year, surely it's the manager in Donegal's case.

There are a few weaknesses in Donegal and Armagh, both are slow starters in games, Armagh get turned over in their forward line, can Galway exploit those weaknesses?

How fit are Galway's injured players?

I have a feeling it will be an all Ulster final.

T

Tuamstar says:

July 13, 2024 at 9:27 pm

Bate the blanket nobody in Galway expects Sean Kelly to start tomorrow, after that I hope we can start the rest..
Finnerty and Walsh are not 100% but it's shit or bust time..
The biggest loss this week was Cian Hernon breaking his wrist in training.. He was excellent when he came in v the Dubs so there is still no luck..
I'm unsure on how tomorrow will go, but if it's still level pegging going into the final 5 mins I'd fancy Donegal as Mc Guinness has them extremely fit..

M

Mayonaze says:

July 13, 2024 at 9:35 pm

Tuamstar, you’re wrong. Donegal aren’t favourites. They are 3/1 outsiders. Galway should win by 4 points tomorrow and if they do they’ll beat Armagh in the final and they’ll be favourites going into that.

G

Green&Red says:

July 13, 2024 at 9:41 pm

This myth of - who else could take over from McStay is crazy. Does everyone forget we had 3 other very strong candidates against him when he got the job. Other men like John Reilly in Kilmeena have done outstanding work at club level. James Horan had 2 years club management before he became mayo manager and it proved to be for the better. I don’t believe mayo need by fancy names to be the next manager. McGuinness wasn’t known outside Donegal before he got the job the first time.

And as for McGeaney having 10 years at Armagh that doesn’t mean he has a proving critics wrong. He is yet to win a trophy of significance. If he loses the final does it mean that Armagh are are going in the right direction heading into his 11th year. I was delighted for him today and you could see what it means to him but he’s been there for a decade. Anyone given that amount of time has to have some level of success in the trophy cabinet.

Just because mayo people are fustrated after 2 years of this management is because there has not been progression from when Horan left and the standard across the board in other counties has tailed off

G

Gizmobobs says:

July 13, 2024 at 9:52 pm

Green and Red factor in how Dooher and Farrell won all Ireland's as novice managers and the CB and their insistence on going for intercounty experience as key shows some of the backward thinking nature there is within the county.
Even when that experience wasn't exactly inspiring.

Well done Armagh. Hope they win it now.

If they take the handbrake off, they can beat anyone. But when they play cagey football, they're like ourselves...all at sea.

Tuamstar, with respect, you're having a laugh coming on here & questioning Mayo fans for questioning McStay. If PJ hadn't beaten us in 2022 & gotten to an All Ireland final, I'd say most Galway people would have been happy to see him go. As for McGeeney. Armagh haven't been in all Ireland final for 21 years. The expectations in Armagh are way different to Mayo. With the resources we are pumping in & the players we have, our championship exploits for 2023 & 2024 have been way below par. And that's the long & short of it.

I would be happy for McStay to stay on. But with a much changed backroom team for 2025.

We can engineer a lot of that. I admit left-field things can interrupt us and I won’t put a final as a definite but determination can bring you very very far.

Amazing really that no matter what game is on or who wins it some people will use it to have a go at Mayo manager and team. Do those calling for McStays removal not see the irony of their comments. McGeeney is Armagh manager for 10 years and fair play to their Co Board for sticking with him even though he was getting quite a bit of grief from his own county ‘supporters’. Then there are people bemoaning the fact that we should be in AI final as we are as good as Armagh. Armagh have been excellent for the last 3 years. Lost 2 Ulster titles on penalties. Lost to Galway on penalties in 2022. Lost last year in Croker on penalties. Unbeaten this year including a good come back draw v Galway to finish top of group. Huge credit is due to McGeeney and team. Instead of hammering Mayo team and management just look at the tiny margins in so many games. We ourselves lost one game in the championship by a point. Galway scraped by Sligo with a late goal, beat us by an injury time point, drew with Armagh and pipped Dublin by a point. Donegal won an Ulster title on penalties. Really small margins. Today’s game swung in Armaghs favour because Kerry missed a sitter and the Kerry goalie made a poor error. Not much between lots of teams. Small margins and a good dollop of luck the key to victory. It’s not always the case of one manager outsmarting his opponent. It’s a case of what happens between the white lines. Armagh are battle hardened as are Galway. Jimmy has Donegal playing well. Should be interesting game tomorrow between two contrasting styles. Whoever wins the AI will have earned it and it won’t be a soft one. And finally well done to Armagh support. Must be great for a team to have that backing from the stands. We used to have that but unfortunately not any more.

M

Mayonaze says:

July 14, 2024 at 12:30 am

@Green & Red, I agree with a lot of that and there certainly is value for sure in a manager proving himself at club level. Horan had it with B’tubber. McStay had it. I know some of the St Brigids lads very well and they’ll say McStay was fundamental in their success in 2013…they also couldn’t believe we didn’t snap him up then in late 2014. I think that was his time. Id see how 2025 goes but 2023 and 2024 have been underwhelming. Rochford too had success with Corofin. The Kilmeena manager has been mentioned once or twice here before and while they have had good success, the reality is junior and intermediate football is so far removed from senior intercounty that I just don’t think you can look at a manager coming from that level; it’s chalk and cheese stuff. Let’s see how Kilmeena do at senior. IMO, to put yourself in the discussion to be the manager of the Mayo senior team you need to have success at senior club level (so for Kilmeena at the moment that’d be getting to a county final or at least the last 4; whereas if you’re the manager of Mitchell’s then success is probably a provincial title) or success with a Mayo underage team (that means either winning an All Ireland or perhaps getting to the latter stages of the All Ireland in a number of years) or some success with another county (relevant to the level that county is at).

M

Mac says:

July 14, 2024 at 2:07 am

If Galway win tomorrow I think they will win the All-Ireland. I know Armagh have got a couple of draws against them last year and this but when you watched those games, Galway were well on top for most of those games before Gleeson coughed up some ridiculous goals. Not sure Armagh can rely on that luck yet again.

Donegal though could take Galway out I feel. Mainly because I'm unsure about Galway's injury profile. You need your best players fit and available at this stage of the season.

C

Clare says:

Well done to Armagh what a crowd they bring full of noise & colour and atmosphere first time in a final in 22 years it's great for the game that it won't be kerry or dubs this year tbh. Was getting so boring.

Onto today's think it'll be 2 northern teams in the final and I hope Armagh win it out a really sound bunch of people.

As regards management I think it's a bit unfair to be giving out about them again we all know we fecked up but also very unlucky is well 1 more year for mcstay and I think if we flop again then time for something new.

Galway are the best team left in it now , can they drive it home though . Kerry were the best team left yeaterdsy with the most skilful players but that doesnt always win you a one off game . Thats the nature of a knockout competition , sometimes the best team will have an off day in a quater or semi and its goodnight Irene .

Praying donegal win it today . Each to their own when it comes to choosing preference over others , i just cant get my head around Mayo people wanting Galway to lift sam . All the near misses weve had are bad enough to take in and you think of all our warriors who have sweated blood and tears in battles since 2012 and then you want to smile and be glad for the likes of conroy getting a celtic cross , no harm to ye but christ above like . Its a bit deeper than bitterness , if you dont know theres no point explaining .

Kerry weren’t having an off day; they were in complete control. But they kept on giving Armagh hope: hitting twelve wides, getting full backs on the final ball, and bungling goal chances. When the heat came on, they had no answer, and Clifford was missing in action.

What about The Star K Donaghy for Mayo backroom team or even Manager, he put a bit of life in the Armagh team,
knowing when to hit hard and when to foul etc. No messing with the ball from his team. Thants all Mayo want a bit of thickness , we have the talent but not using it the right way to win matches. Also yesterday two high hail mary balls into the square , result two goals. Why wasnt Aiden not used fot that all year.

To win just once, I don't believe people here are going out of their way to have a go at the Mayo management, but merely comparing other Counties management systems.

This is what I took from both management teams yesterday.

Armagh panel much fitter than Kerry panel.
Armagh had a few plans B's, O Neill to midfield etc.
Armagh management ruthless in taking off the sub nr 20 that came on late in 2nd half for me 7, he was having a poor game and made no impact.
Armagh had other great guys to come in Burns the wing back, the midfielders, nr 15 with the red hair was the best player on the pitch in extra time, Campbell ( which I rate highly) was a used sub also, all those guys were the difference in the end.

J

Jr says:

An average Kerry team.
Paralysis by analysis.
No ball kicked quickly into Clifford

He wasn't going to repeat Salthill and give frees at the end

C

Charlie says:

July 14, 2024 at 12:13 pm

I think people are missing the simple and obvious reason for Mayo dropping out this year and that is a shortage if scoring forwards. You need a spread of 4/5 scoring options up front. Otherwise, your build up play becomes slow and laborious, trying to play in a rare shooter.

McStay made a comment (out of frustration), after losing to Dublin, saying "They are slow learners." Kevin knows what's required, but has to continue the search for "the lesser spotted scorer."

We know that today is a 50/50 game. Of course, it will be heart in the mouth stuff - especially hoping our injured players hold up, and the game doesn't go to injury time.
Traffic is already building up.

What's the definition of insanity again.

Doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

12 months ago Kerry 4 up and comfortable and give away a terrible goal and collapse.

12 months later and against a Inferior team than Dublin we did it again.

Bitterly disappointing but we ultimately lost a game we should have pulled away in.

Shocking again and it'll be a long winter of discontent.

Only 2 players get the online vitriol Aidan OShea and David Clifford.

A horrible side to our society that turns me away from the game.

West Kerry - I think Jack o Connor got paranoid this year trying to outsmart the blanket defence. There was no typical Kerry football yesterday- fast ball into forwards running at angles and players coming on the burst. All too slow and pedestrian. Looked like the players didn't enjoy playing that rubbish either. Will Jack o Connor come under pressure to step down??

S

Swallow Swoops says:

July 14, 2024 at 1:13 pm

West Kerry and Southmayo Exile, it looked like Armagh had a game plan for Kerry. Strong, organised defence, like Galway; take Kerry forwards out of the game; use fitness and vigour as they themselves attack; take plenty of shots as long as the ball goes dead; get their accurate scorers on the ball (O’Neill, Burns, Campbell), keep the fitness going into extra time.
Kerry backs had to try to take scores in the Derry game too - as was the case yesterday - as the forwards were well marshalled.
Even though Kerry went ahead at times and missed chances, Armagh never looked dead, were always in it. They believed in their system.
Kerry were never allowed to get going really. Scores were hard to get for Kerry.

Armagh won that game with height, size and strength.

It would be nice to see the mindset of some of the county most prominent supporters change. I don’t think it’s too much to say that we should set out every year to try and win the All Ireland. When James Horan came in he made a statement that Mayo should be “consistently competitive”. He then went and backed that up and for the next decade or more, proved on the field that it was a reasonable and fair aspiration for Mayo GAA.
To be fair to Kevin McStay, he has alway said that he expected this team to be competitive from day one in his tenure and it wasn’t a squad that needed rebuilding. Rebuilding is such a nonsense term in GAA anyway. This isn’t the NBA or NFL. The best 26 footballers in Mayo, if coached well and in good form, should always be given a realistic chance of beating anyone else in the country on any given year.
Just can’t accept this loser talk that we should only be aiming for a Connacht title, we aren’t all Ireland contenders anymore, that we haven’t the players we used to have. Donegal could easily win Sam this year with a bunch of no names that most people on this forum would have struggled to name more than 3 or 4 of last January.
It’s almost like some people have been so scarred by the near misses that they don’t want to ever be in that scenario again where there’s an all Ireland final on the line for mayo, something massive to lose, incase that familiar feeling of defeat comes again. Mayo can’t win the all Ireland without putting themselves back in that situation again though.
Galway winning Sam would be the best thing to happen now. It would light a fire in the heart of this mayo setup that they can also achieve that.

So one of Donegal/Armagh/Galway will be all ireland champions, another team returning to the summit before us definitely leaves a sour tastes and a winter of regrets.

The big positive for pretty much every top 10 team is dublin/kerry are undoubtedly back in the pack now for the next few years

Whatever about the arguments of comparing mayo to the 3 remaining teams 1 thing is abundantly clear, we are miles behind all 3 in terms of genuine squad depth and having a bench. Armagh yesterday with Campbell outstanding from the bench, mcquillan, burns all massive impacts. In mayo there is absolutely no way Campbell wouldn't be starting every game.

Galway have guys like Heaney, John Daly (allstar), culhane, Darcy all experienced players with lots of league exposure

Donegal are frequently getting 4 or 5 points off their bench

If we go into the league doing same as last 2 years in playing the same team most weeks then we are going nowhere

O

Ontheditch says:

Both goals Yesterday came from long 'Hail Mary' shots dropping in around the goals. We have the best 50-50 ball winner in the country in AOS and we starve him of ball in around the house. Instead he is forced out around the middle to join in the hand passing game or worse still we have him chasing back the length of the field on the tail of an opponent. How more fucked up can we get our tactics with arguably our trump card.
Contrast with the way Galway will use Comer.

Kerry did have them at arms length for long periods and blew it in the final quarter.

Galway are getting all the breaks, folks. That goal was very fortuitous and kept them in it. Donegal looked very tired in the last 10. Armagh are a very fit team, so shouldn't be a problem for them on that front, but Galway have had their number the last couple of years. Galway will win the final, in my view.

You better prepare to be disappointed Clare as there is no way this Galway team is going to lose again to Armagh.
You have to admire how they shut teams out defensively and choke the life out of opposition. There was a sense of inevitability about the result today with 10 min to go.
Galway just find a way to win.
Mayo on the other hand, specialise in finding ways to lose.

I suppose this tells us how close Mayo could have been this year.

I

July 14, 2024 at 5:59 pm

I also believe that Galway will beat Armagh, they have a good record against them. Armagh were great yesterday but were aided hugely by a goalkeeper’s mistake which kept them in it at a time when Kerry looked like they were managing the game well.

Mind you, Gleeson had his customary brain fart in the third quarter but was bailed out by this defenders, which could always happen again.

No harm to Tuam star and a few of the other Galway supporters here, but I wouldn’t support them if they were playing Glasgow Rangers. There wasn’t much love for us down there when we were making All-Ireland finals every other year, a lot of overnight Dublin fans floating round the city, if memory serves correctly. And they have a seriously arrogant element online, unrepresentative or not, and particularly towards our good selves.

Hon the Orange Men ;)

Galway are where they are primarily because they have sorted out their defence. They are incredibly difficult to break down. McStay and Mayo have not sorted the defence. We might bring lots of players back but it’s not structured correctly, which I just find incredibly frustrating. That’s one major difference between the teams. It’s fairly simple.

Galway will win the All Ireland. I backed them a few months ago. Nice odds. It was clear to me that once they got the players back they’d be very hard to stop. That, and clearly seeing that they have out proper work into organising their defence

I just don’t know what the fuck our boys are at at training. We leave plenty of space for opponents to score and are geriatric-like in transition. It’s rubbish

D

dreamysleepynightysnoozysnooze says:

It Means Nothing To Me - to be fair, Galway got very lucky with their goal today too, otherwise Donegal could have been 4 or 5 points up at one stage and frankly Galway didn't look remotely like scoring a goal at any stage. Maybe they would have clawed it back anyway, but it was very fortuitous. Still think they'll have the composure on Armagh in the final and will probably just choke the life out of them.

M

Mac says:

For all the talk of Donegal being super fit and running the legs off Galway with their pace, they were actually the team that faded first during the final 10/15 minutes. For Galway to win a semi-final like that with Comer and Walsh being relatively quiet and Sean Kelly not even being on the pitch is impressive no matter how you look at it. They are getting serious contributions from their not so big names in recent games.

I think they will win the final as well if they can avoid some brain farts from Gleeson in goal. He's gifted Armagh some cheap goals in previous games between the two.

I thought Galway managed their lead very well in last few minutes. Comer and co. will come back fitter in two weeks time.
There are so many leaders on the field when they are needed, even the subs come on believing the can win the game for their team.
The self belief in both finalists makes for a great game. The west awake, but I certainly would have no issues with Armagh gettyover the line.
As a poster above said, a lovely tribute to John I Mahony. His comments on the fine margins between winning and losing contrasting with the hugh difference after the game will ring again in a couple of weeks. We know all about it in Mayo.

Hello everbody, I hope this is ok to post here. We, at Ballinrobe Community School are fundraising to build a modern state of the art school gym. This facility will be a massive help to the over 800 students in our care. However the vision behind building this space is much more than that. For each day the school is closed we intend to use the space as fitness hub that would allow all the sports teams in the region to use.

You have have recently seen we broke a world record last May to highlight awareness of this project. https://www.mayonews.ie/news/gaa/1500683/ballinrobe-community-schools-world-record-set-to-be-verified.html

The second phase of our fundraising activities is a raffle for All Ireland Football final tickets. Please see all the details here: https://www.idonate.ie/raffle/AllIrelandTickets . If it is not too much trouble, we would be delighted if you could share this link with as many Armagh and Galway folks as you possible can. Even for the neutrals, we think the winner of these prizes would have a very enjoyable weekend in Dublin. Thanks a million.

And to do it all today without our captain and leader Sean Kelly.

I wouldn't underestimate Armagh or predict a result on what's happened up to now.

Struggle to see how Galway have the measure of Armagh. Most people i kmow are saying it. They were 5 points up this year & didn't win. Lost to them last year. Their only victory against Armagh was on penalties. And in that game, Galway blew an 8 point lead. And only for McDaid, they would have been beaten in extra time. You could equally argue that both teams are very evenly matched.

Will Galway win? I hope not. But I think they probably will & best of luck to them..but let no arsehole come on here saying "we showed how it was done" etc & rub salt into the wounds if he win it. Tuamstar, Big Mike, Chesneychet ye always come across as sound posters in fairness.

I made it home at last after a right battle with Donegal and the way to the bar at Fagan's. I thought we played great in defence but have scope for improvement up front. Sheer effort from the backs to keep Donegal out in the last 20 minutes. We cut through them in the last 10 minutes resulting in great points for Dylan and Liam. We will need more in the final against a quality Armagh team. Its there now for the lads to grasp it and I'm expecting a much better showing up front in 2 weeks time. Two more weeks for Sean to be fit, I understand he was warming up but wasnt brought in so must be close enough to start hopefully. A great day but nothing won yet and a massive challenge awaits.

Hard to argue against Galway winning final, and on paper you would have to say Galway are the better side. But I just have that twitch feeling that Armagh might just do it. Teams know each other very well at this stage. Just don't like the look of Comer the last two games, and I think they will need him firing to beat Armagh. I wouldn't begrudge the neighbours an All-Ireland though and will be rooting for them in the final.
