The Mayo club championships will dominate the local landscape for the next few months.
The fun and games will begin in earnest this weekend so we set the scene in the company of two men with plenty of championship experience between them.
Colm Boyle will be lining out with Davitts in the Intermediate Championship while Aidan Kilcoyne played in numerous County Senior finals with Knockmore and he also joint-managed his home club to last year’s decider.
Mike chats with Colm and Aidan about the likely contenders for ultimate honours and which players and teams are likely to dominate the headlines.
The lads also try and predict what way the weekend’s games are going to go.

Is there a list of games Mayo GAA TV will show? Their site could definitely do with improving.

Would be great to see as many games streamed as possible. I know there will be limited resources within Mayo GAA TV to cover more than 2-3 games each weekend...and that's its a subscription service now for the €110 package being advertised (good value in my view for 20+ games)... but why not also allow the GAA clubs themselves also stream those games that Mayo GAA tv can not get to and stream those through the same subscription platform? This could be done I assume if Mayo GAA tv agreed it with the respective clubs? There are literally thousands of Mayo people worldwide from the UK, USA and Australia that would love to see their own clubs live on Mayo GAA tv or facebook streams playing in the club championship .....and while there will be a difference in the quality of the streams ( fair dues to Mayo GAA tv the stream quality and commentaries are excellent), I honestly don't think a lad or lady from Belmullet will worry too much if they could see a facebook stream of their game on Sunday vs the Mitchel's live on facebook (Look at the quality of facebook streaminng that Chicago GAA are doing at the moment every weekend)....and Ryan O'Donohue landing back in from McBride's playing against the same Mitchel's lads he played for McBride's with last Sunday in Gaelic Park.

https://page.inplayer.com/mayogaa/ for this weekend's games. The website is not a great advertisement for what is an excellent service.

I agree in the city- this year seems so disorganised in general. Just mayo gaa tv- 3 days until championship starts and only now announcing what games will be shown.

Apologies for going off topic, but another.reminder of how brittle life is.
The sudden death has been announced of former Roscommon footballer, Don Connellan , aged just 51.
He was a member of the Roscommon team that beat Mayo in the 2001 Connacht Final.
Remarkably, he's the third member of that panel to have died since.

Yeah just read that about Don Connellan. Remember him playing v Mayo. Very sad. RIP. On the club championship I remember people saying when the Mayo management were relieved of their jobs that it was a positive move as it would allow the new Mayo manager be in place so that he could take in club championship .Unless something happens very quickly that is not going to occur.

To win just once, thats still the case, now the job is open and we have 4 contenders they know they need to be on the look out. Would not be the case if last regime had been left in place.
