It’s been a hectic start to the year at Connacht GAA HQ, especially with the Dome being destroyed by Storm Éowyn at the end in January.
Mike paid a visit to Bekan this week to sit down with Connacht GAA CEO John Prenty to talk about everything from his plans to rebuild the Dome to the biggest challenges facing the GAA to the upcoming Connacht Senior championship.

Absolutely love the Midwest interviews with the Colman's lads. Never seen sport transcend Claremorris as much, if they did well in club championship, half the town would be praying they lost.
Strange strange aura in the school, my dad hates gaa but always says he was in first year when they won hogan, and it was his favourite memory from school.
They'll be ready.

Great interview with John. Always had great time for him. No airs and graces about him just tells it has it is. No better man than Mike to ask the telling questions .

Great interview with John, massive admiration for what he’s achieved , the vision he had in putting the COE in place and Dome, can’t be underestimated. Some people I’m sure thought it was crazy putting it in Bekan but it’s been a tremendous success. I’m 100% confident the Dome will rise again bigger and better and like the airport before it be a beacon for what can be achieved for this part of Connacht that never got its fair share of development. Well done John and the team there, keep the Faith.

Why wouldnt Claremorris town get behind Colmans, there in a Hogan cup Final and to say half the town would see Claremorris Gaa club lose is simply not true. They havnt had the privilege to see a Claremorris team in a County Final since the 70s which really is a disgrace.David Clarke mentioned on a pod a while back here of a small reception in Ballina town when they won a Molclair cup 2 years ago.If Claremorris won it , I would safely say you would have the biggest celebrations in the county if they did win it, the problem with Claremorris has been the lack of serious commitment from there Senior players the likes of Ballintubber, Knockmore and Garrymore give and too many players finishing up early after underage and they are seen as soft touch by neighbouring clubs, it definitely not a shortage of talent.
