Excellent interview — Jack comes across as an outstanding young man. We’re very lucky to have players like him representing us. You can really sense the pride and passion he has for wearing the Ballyhaunis and Mayo jerseys and for representing his club and county.

Best of luck to him on Friday night!

Don't think he is in the running due to recency bias in the Allstars - the selection is basically 40-50% for All Ireland winners, 30-40% for losers and 10-30% for semifinalists/Provincial winners

Team will have 7 Kerry men, 5 Donegal men, 1 Louth, 1 Meath, 1 Armagh

Gk will be Shane Ryan of Kerry

In defence, Brian Ó Beaglaíoch, Jason Foley, Gavin White of Kerry, Finbar Roarty and Peadar Mogan of Donegal with Seán Rafferty of Meath.

Midfield will be Michael Langan (Donegal) and Joe O'Connor (Kerry),

Kerry will get David Clifford and Paudie Clifford, with Michael Murphy and Ciaran Thompson of Donegal

Louth will get Ryan Burns and Oisin Conaty of Armagh getting the last spot.

The last two could also be Matthew Thompson of Galway, Sean o Se of Kerry or Conor O Donnel of Donegal. I just think that Louths leinster win will get rewarded and Armagh's multitude of good performances gives them 1 also

The problem with All Stars is Mayo are viewed in the top teams. So when we don't get to a semi final we dont get a look in with All Stars.

If you're from a Roscommon and win a game in Connacht and maybe in the Round Robin you might sneak an All Star. See Enda Smith

Remember when we reached the All Ireland Final in 2020 and received 2 All Stars. One more than Tipperary and one less than Cavan.

We don't get any credit for provincial performances. That honour is for Ulster teams

Loved that, Jack came across very well. Think it was a point missed in the latest pod when talking about unknowns in football, I'd very much doubt that if we'd have put up a poll this time last year to name the one Mayo player most likely to be nominated for an All Star, Jack would've come out on top. Delighted for him all the same, best of luck!

Bloody Autocorrect *wouldn't have come out on top. So who knows what next year holds. Maybe thats a poll suggestion for the coming year, guess top 3 Mayo players for 2026. Would be interesting to reflect on at the end of the season

Well done to Jack on his nomination... I'd have him in a similar bracket to Brendan Harrison... unassuming, gets on with it.
