It was one win and one loss for the two Mayo teams involved in league action this weekend.
Let’s start with the win. The county’s women footballers got the better of Tipperary this afternoon in a hard-fought, low-scoring NFL Division Two clash at Swinford, which ended in a 0-9 to 0-7 victory for the home team.
The win, coupled with Donegal’s win over Tyrone in the division’s top of the table match, sees Diane O’Hora’s side move up to second in the table after three rounds of games. Next up for them is a trip to Tyrone in a fortnight’s time.
Yesterday, meanwhile, the hurlers fell to a 2-25 to 0-21 defeat to Derry in Round 3 of the NHL Division Two. This loss – their second from three outings – leaves the county bottom of the table and now in a proper fight to avoid relegation from the division.

Well done to the Mayo Ladies. Going nicely. Just like the men's team with Andy I think Diane is getting the best from the Ladies. Keep it going 👍.
