The Irish Examiner has a piece this morning by Maurice Brosnan (here) confirming that AFL club St Kilda have given clearance for Kobe McDonald to line out with Crossmolina in the club championship.
Kobe left for Australia days after Mayo’s All-Ireland title success and he missed Deel Rovers’ first two group matches in this year’s club championship, though he was back in the country again a little over a week ago. In his absence, Crossmolina beat Ballintubber and drew with Aghamore and now they face Mayo Gaels on Sunday in their final Group 3 match, knowing that a win there will earn them a quarter-final berth, most likely at home as group winners.
With Kobe back in their ranks, Crossmolina’s prospects of an extended run in the championship have been greatly boosted, not least given that his brother Jordan Flynn is sidelined by injury at present. The attendance at Fr O’Hara Park on Sunday (throw-in 1pm) is also likely to be boosted by the prospect of seeing Kobe display his outrageous bag of tricks in a Gaelic football match once again.

Big boost to Cross to have the young buck back . Hopefully Jordan back in action soon but his body surely needs a rest . He put in some shift this year .

That's great news, especially to be able to see him operate at club level again where he stands out so much. Will definitely add a couple of thousand euro to Mayo GAA gate receipts too.

I have read a very good article on mayo football journey by John Cuffe in the Western People as he described our journey since '89 to the Spanish Cameno.
He also said he is soon to under go treatment for cancer.I assume it's the same man who used to blog here some time ago,as I used to enjoy his text,I just want to wish him a successful outcome to his treatment journey.

Yes that’s the same man. I also wish him well in his struggle with that awful disease. He wrote a book a few years ago about his time as a prison officer called, Inside the cage, if I’m not mistaken.
