Jordan Flynn is our Player of the Match from Sunday’s game

I’ve just realised I forgot one important piece of business from Sunday’s win over Tyrone, which was to confirm who you’d voted our Player of the Match.

I can now confirm that the deserved winner of this award is Jordan Flynn, who made a significant impact on his return to the county team on Sunday, following his recent exploits at club level with Crossmolina. Jordan topped the poll with 27% support.

Others who featured prominently in the poll were Frank Irwin (17%), Eoin O’Donoghue (10%) and Matthew Ruane and Enda Hession (both 9%). Well done to them all and, in particular, to Jordan Flynn, our Player of the Match from Sunday’s game against Tyrone.

Great to see him back. That bit of bite around the middle always a massive addition for a side and then the touch of class with the 2 pointer to top it off. Congratulations.

Well deserved. Gave us leadership and can slip into midfield as needs be. Reasonable to expect a big year from him. 11 would be my preferred position, but once he sees plenty of action he will deliver. Capable of being a very inspirational player.

Ya,well done to Jordan...and fair play to him for making himself available so soon after his great club run....no one could have blamed him if he spent another week or two enjoying himself with his pals so it shows his appetite for more.
Hopefully it's not his only medal this year.

Jordan Flynn had a bit of an edge to him that we are generally lacking. He has obvious leadership qualities

Congrats well deserved stood up when we needed him to usually always does.. He also doesn't let opposition bully him around the pitch & that 2 pointer was a class moment from him to definetly captain potential one day!

Predicted Team for Armagh:

Reape
E O'Donoghue McHugh Hession
Callinan McBrien E McLaughlin
Ruane Thornton
O'Flaherty D McHale Flynn
Boland Irwin C McHale

Boland for Towey. Boland had a stinker and got dropped. So fair is fair and Towey should be dropped, and Fergal got his scores from the bench the last day. Cian McHale to get another chance (hopefully wind assisted).

Darren McHale to get an opportunity to build some form. I want to give Reid and Neary a rest tbh, Reid after a black card and Neary only got himself a single. O'Flaherty and Thornton were the guys on the bench, but if Carney, Touhy or Diarmuid are fit they may come back in.

Mattie showed better with Flynn in there.

Defense was better. Callinan in for Coen. Would still like to see more of Morahan and Kelly, and I'm unsure if Brickenden is injured or dropped, but doubt we'll change much at the back this weekend.

Jordan is an example to every underage player in Mayo .as he would admit himself his discipline was very poor a few years back but he seems well in control of it now, and the way he has improved his game tenfold, in terms of S and C he has to be the one of the most well conditioned players in the country.

Delighted for Jordan, but I think he does need to watch his discipline. Sailed close to the wind in the intermediate final, and again last Sunday he got an early yellow. Still, he did very well to play controlled football after that.
