Crossmolina’s All-Ireland Intermediate club football final against Ballinderry has now been rescheduled and will take place on Sunday 26th January at Croke Park with a 1.30pm throw-in. Seán Lonergan will ref it and it’ll be broadcast live on TG4.
These are, needless to say, enormously tough times for the club and the wider Crossmolina community, as well, of course, as the community in Carrick-on-Shannon. It’s hard to know where an All-Ireland final fits in the midst of such grief but maybe a time like this is when sport may be able to help, even in some small way, to lift spirits.

I’d suggest any Mayo GAA supporters in the Dublin/Kildare area living near the train line into Drumcondra going in to cheer on Crossmolina. I know the league match is the night before but they could do with extra support at this time. I don’t know how they will rise for it. I’m from neighbouring club Lahardane McHales but went last time they won in 2001. Some day and night!

Extremely difficult circumstances.
GAA dealt with the re fixture as best they could.
Hard to see how Crossmolina can deal with this tragedy.
Life and death are so much bigger than football.

I'd agree with Sinead 37. Anyone who can possibly make this match should do so. To show our support for the community as best we can.
The result is probably secondary, although needless to say a win would be a huge boost.

All the best to Crossmolina. As been said the result is secondary at this stage but would still be nice to see them lift the cup. The whole of Mayo is behind ye.

It's hard to play with heart when your heart is broken.
May your spirit be strong though your heart feels weak. We're with you in Crossmolina. In spirit and in heart.
Just know the love and support that goes with each one of you.

Well said @Sinead37.
As others have said it's hard to see how crossmolina will do. Such a a hard thing to come out and do to play in this final after such an awful tragedy.
They are a great club with great support the whole of mayo is behind you.

Point to note.Crossmolina to ballymote is about an hour.where you can catch the sligo train straight to coke park drumcondra.it comes and goes very frequently for anyone not bothered with urban parking driving .ps northern teams have a high success rate in finals at coke park so as a county we need to support this club big time.

The actual preparing for the final is so difficult. No doubt on the day, the players will give it everything. As others have said, support from the sidelines is vital, definitely a case of the 16th man.
