I thought it would be an idea – as the Championship season begins to crank up once again – to issue another periodic reminder about the blog’s comments policy.
The obvious starting point for this is the set of house rules for commenting on the blog, which you’ll find here.
There are no particular issues of concern on this front at the moment, I’m happy to report. The vast majority of people who comment here know reasonable debate when they see it and so the issues that arise are relatively few and far between. Long may that continue.
It’s also heartening to see that there’s a cohort of contributors from other counties – in particular Galway, Kerry and Dublin – who are active here on a regular basis, some of them for many years. That’s a healthy thing and input from supporters of other counties will always be encouraged and welcomed here. We’re all Gaelic football people at the end of the day.
There is a development coming down the line in relation to the blog that I should flag and now is as good a time as any to do this.
This is that we’re planning on rolling what we’re doing on the podcast (including our written content) and the blog into one online home. This would mean that the blog as it currently exists would no longer do so on a standalone basis, though much of what’s here now – in particular the comments facility – will continue into the future.
There’s no timeframe on when this will happen but it definitely will happen at some point over the coming months. I’ll provide plenty of notice in advance of any changes taking place.
In the meantime, carry on doing what you’re doing, which has made the blog the special online place it continues to be.

Mayo Minors dominating. Completely on top at midfield for kuck_outs. Seniors could take a lesson in taking goal chances.
