It was a day of high drama and breathtaking entertainment in the Mayo senior and intermediate club championships.

That was certainly the case in Claremorris as the homeside and Westport served up a remarkable second round contest that produced seven goals and 39 points!

Paddy Finnegan was there for MFT to see Claremorris produce a fine performance and pull off a surprise win over last year’s beaten finalists.

Elsewhere, Rob and Edwin watched Knockmore get back to winning ways against Ballaghaderreen and Mike and Barry Moran watched Charlestown edge out Kilmeena after a thriller at Fr O’Hara Park.

Mike also rounds up Intermediate championship wins for Kilmaine and Parke over Kiltimagh and Cill Chomáin respectively.
